QBQ 6 - OUR KIDS-OUR REFLECTION

Are you wearing yourself out talking but it seems no one is listening? Do certain corrections seem to be falling on deaf ears? Check it, it is probably because what you are saying contradicts what you are doing. Children at the early stages of their lives are more moved by what they watch their parents say or do than what they are being told to do. My lil one grew up disliking her baby cereals and puddings because she was wondering why she was constantly being asked to eat something no other person was eating. So, she was introduced to main meals quite early. I mean while other kids in her crèche had milk and cereals in their lunch packs, my daughter had rice, beans, plantain or porridge packed in hers. Well, that’s on a lighter note. But seriously, our kids are constantly on our radar and they watch us irrespective of whether they are actually looking or not. They are our very own reflection, not just in looks but in behavioral attributes as well. We all want our kids to grow up to be well-mannered, courteous, respectful, obedient, intelligent and disciplined. Well, ope you have all that checked on your list too. A fig tree cannot possibly bear a mango fruit. So whatever you want to see on your children as they grow and begin their life journey, work on being that as well. It takes more than just talents and treasures to get to that mountain top…Attitude speaks a whole lot louder! There are certain things money cannot just buy.
