A&M 361 - Take My Life & Let It Be...

I was at a wedding some months back and the couple’s cake was just divine...so much art in something that edible. The cake vendor was indisposed, so someone else had to give a speech about the cake on her behalf. From this lady’s countenance, one could tell that she was faced with the most uncomfortable task, I mean she was sweating, fumbled on a few words. And when it was time to coordinate the cutting of the cake, one would have thought she would pass out on that stage - all because it wasn’t her masterpiece but someone else’s. We are God’s masterpiece, but most times we act like we are our own masterpiece. Wearing ourselves out trying to plan our lives, our future, like we know how it’s all gonna end. I want to be done with school by 20, get a job at 21, marry at 22, have kids at 23 blah blah...Well, have you stopped to ask God what He wants? He, the Porter, the One who designed your frame, of course He knows exactly what you need and what you don’t. Quit trying to take that role off Him, He ain’t complaining. Sometimes, in the process of trying to figure everything out, we end up ruining it all. That situation is overwhelming because it is not your place to handle...the more you try, the more it weighs down on you. Reminds me of when I sighted my 2 year old trying to lift a filled dispenser water bottle. When we decide to surrender our ALL to Him, and let Him take the wheel of our lives, He will surely drive us to places that stretch beyond our wildest dreams and imaginations. Just trust Him. Even as He ushers you into a new week, pray- God be in my head and in my thinking, in my mouth and in my speaking, in my hands and in my doing.
