A&M 49 - O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

I read a story on instagram about a lady who was on board a troubled plane. According to her story, cabin pressure had dropped, oxygen masks where all over the place, some were not functional, some passengers started passing out, then the worst happened; the pilot could not land the plane, in-fact in her own words, the plane was basically playing around in the sky. Then she said something that struck me, “the moment when you think- it’s over, there’s no more hope, that’s when God shows up! Isreal was at some point in a similar ‘hopeless’ situation, but they held on to these words, “I will send you a Messiah, and He shall come and deliver you.” We have come to the last month of the year and I know most of us are reflecting on all that has happened in 2018...the mistakes, the regrets, the what if’s, the pain...wondering if we are ever gonna get out of these phases that have held us bound for too long. Well, our Ancient & Modern Hymn 49 has come through today to remind us that we shouldn’t fret, rather we should celebrate and be joyful, for our GOD OF PEACE shall come and rescue us from the miry clay and set our feet upon a rock!
