QBQ 18 - A RAY OF HOPE.

A candle lit during the day would normally be less obvious than when it is lit in the dark. Just imagine being in the darkness for a while, unable to see a thing...your movement is even restricted because you are unsure of which direction to go. The fear that comes along with it can be crippling. What if something runs into me...what if I run into something? And then, all of a sudden a little light comes on...even if its just a fire fly, the relief it brings is just overwhelming. It is the same feeling that comes whenever you show up for someone during their lowest times. I remember reading the life story of one doctor, unfortunately, I cannot recall his name but I recall vividly what he said in his book. He had hit rock bottom so hard, up to a level where he couldn’t even feed himself. He taught of taking his own life, there was no reason to live anymore. Just as he was about to, he said someone showed up in front of him eating a burger. Then the person looked down at him, handed the burger over to him, emptied his wallet, gave him a gentle pat on his shoulder and walked away. In his words, ‘...afterwards I have had the privilege of dinning with kings and queens, but that partly eaten beef burger wrapped up in a stained paper towel still remains the best meal I have ever had, and the warmth of those hands on my shoulders is a feeling that cannot be replaced.’
